MAY 2020

Covid-19 UPDATE

For now, Jerome Been's Driving School has suspended all lessons for the foreseeable future. The Victorian Government has extended the State of Emergency until May 11, 2020.

Please be assured that when we are given the go ahead to resume lessons, all instructors will cleaning their cars thoroughly after every client and lesson. We have also been following the directive of the World Health Organisation to wash our hands as often as possible, clean surfaces, and cancel appointments if we've been feeling unwell (which none of our instructors have, nor has anyone travelled overseas recently)

We ask that our clients do this too;

  • washing hands before a lesson, and after

  • bringing hand-sanitiser if they have it, tissues if they have allergies (remembering to sneeze/cough into their elbow)

  • and of course; cancelling lessons if they've felt unwell, but especially;

  • if you – or someone you live with – has travelled overseas recently, and are self-isolating. That would also encompass cancelling driving-lessons.

To that end – we are advising all new clients that VicRoads WILL open up again, hopefully sooner rather than later, we are hoping some time after May 11. There will be a considerable backlog of drive tests to perform. And as such, we are suggesting that you give us a call, so we can organise an instructor to put you on our standby lists.

Clients who did have their tests booked with VicRoads will be given priority when booking open up again.

Thank you. Please take care out there, and have patience with our instructors and all VicRoads staff you may encounter – these are unprecedented times, and everyone is doing the best they can under the circumstances.

APRIL 2020

As news about COVID-19 continues to move quickly, various official agencies are working with small business across all sectors to keep us informed of best-practice and safety standards.

For now, Jerome Been's Driving School is continuing to operate as we follow the lead of Commercial Passenger Vehicles Victoria and the commercial passenger industry.

Please be assured that all instructors have been cleaning their cars thoroughly after every client and lesson. We have also been following the directive of the World Health Organisation to wash our hands as often as possible, clean surfaces, and cancel appointments if we've been feeling unwell (which none of our instructors have, nor has anyone travelled overseas recently)

We ask that our clients do this too;
- washing hands before a lesson, and after
- bringing hand-sanitiser if they have it, tissues if they have allergies (remembering to sneeze/cough into their elbow)
- and of course; cancelling lessons if they've felt unwell, but especially;
- if you – or someone you live with – has travelled overseas recently, and are self-isolating. That would also encompass cancelling driving-lessons.

To that end – we do ask that if your lessons are not urgent, right now – that you please reconsider booking a lesson with us.

We do expect that driving schools will eventually be deemed a non-essential service, as will VicRoads in all likelihood - looking to what shutdowns in Italy and Spain have mandated. Please know that we will be following VicRoads guidelines in this, and they in turn will be following State Government instruction, and until we all know more we won't be speculating further.

Thank you. Please take care out there, and have patience with our instructors and all VicRoads staff you may encounter – these are unprecedented times, and everyone is doing the best they can under the circumstances.
